This is an intensive two-week residential programme for established museum professionals, which takes place on the UEA campus each summer. It was developed in response to the increasing demand for people at senior levels within museums (and related organisations) who could demonstrate an exceptionally wide range of leadership and personal skills in addition to their subject-based knowledge and experience. It recognises a clear distinction between leadership and management and offers participants the opportunity of spending time living and working with colleagues at similarly high levels in a range of institutions, and of exploring their own leadership skills and styles. Alumni are now leading some of the UK’s and Europe’s major national institutions.
Programem katedry UNESCO je realizace holistických projektů v oblasti kultury a světového dědictví v době pokračující globalizace světa. Projekty podchycují filozofické, teoretická i praktické aspekty světového dědictví, jeho podstatu, vznik, ochranu a uchování, jeho využití i zneužití.

Museum Leadership Programme

It recognises a clear distinction between leadership and management and offers participants the opportunity of spending time living and working with colleagues at similarly high levels in a range of institutions, and of exploring their own leadership skills and styles. Alumni are now leading some of the UK’s and Europe’s major national institutions.
The course emphasises such things as recognising and applying different leadership styles; analysing and developing interpersonal skills; leading teams and organisations through projects and organisational change and dealing with funding and governing bodies and with the media. Sessions are led by tutors from the University of London(SOAS); the London Business School; the Said Business School, Oxford and by independent consultants and distinguished museum professionals.

Mezinárodní letní škola muzeologie
Programem katedry UNESCO je realizace holistických projektů v oblasti kultury a světového dědictví v době pokračující globalizace světa. Projekty podchycují filozofické, teoretická i praktické aspekty světového dědictví, jeho podstatu, vznik, ochranu a uchování, jeho využití i zneužití.
Katedra odpovídá za Mezinárodní letní školu muzeologie – ISSOM. Katedra řídí ISSOM a přispívá k její internacionalizaci a prostřednictvím vedoucího katedry jako učitele a ředitele ISSOM i k naplňování jejích výukových programů.
Katedra UNESCO byla zřízena v prosinci 1994 Dohodou uzavřenou mezi UNESCO a Masarykovou univerzitou podepsanou generálním ředitelem UNESCO a rektorem Univerzity. Šlo o první katedru UNESCO v České republice a době svého založení o jedinou katedru UNESCO zaměřenou na muzeologii a světové dědictví na celém světě.
